NeedleWork Framing

Do you have a great piece of needlework you’d like framed? Whether it’s a piece you’ve just completed and want to frame as a gift or an heirloom piece your great-grandmother made, The Right Angle’s team is here to help. We will frame your needlework in the perfect frame to protect it and make it look amazing. We can even create a custom frame for you to really make it stand out!

How We Frame Needlework:

While you can frame needlework simply by putting it in a frame that is deep enough to accommodate the stitching, we take the old school approach to this task. We start by determining the correct size blocking for the needlework, then carefully stretch it by hand across the pad before pinning it in place. All of this is done by hand and with the utmost care to ensure that no damage is done to the piece. Once it’s stretched and pinned, we place it in the frame and put a backing on it.

All of our needlework is done using archival quality materials. The pad the piece is stretched and pinned to is acid-free and is made of a non-woven material. We make certain nothing will catch any of the threads or do any sort of damage to your piece. We know you’re entrusting us with something that took hours to do, and we will treat it with the utmost care.

Why Frame Your Needlework?

There are a number of reasons why framing your needlework is a good idea. While you can certainly display it using a hoop or other method, framing your needlework will protect it from a variety of different risks. Needlework, especially if it’s done on a solid white background, can easily get dirty or stained over time. The colors can start to fade if it’s in the sunlight for long periods of time, plus the UV light from the sun can cause the thread to weaken until it eventually breaks.

You also have to worry about insects and even other animals getting hold of your needlework. You may not even realize that the piece is being damaged by insects until it’s too late. By having your needlework framed, you can protect it from all of these dangers and make certain it can be passed down for generations to come.
